Homebrew has a 'tap' feature.

Maintaining a list of well-known remotes on the OPAM wiki would be useful, yes.  We have Daniel, Mirage, Citrix, Xen, Ocsigen, Jun Furuse, and more we don't know about yet.  It would let us add those into the autobuild pool more easily.
