Not really, everything related to packages build errors and wrong package metadata aims to be tracked in OCamlPro/opam-repository. This list is intended to be used for discussing about OPAM internals and its evolution only (although specific feature requests are better tracked on OCamlPro/opam -- at least from my point of view, as I can prioritize issues and cross-reference commits/issues).

That's a good point. I don't really know how other distro look after lost authors/maintainers.
