Yes, absolutely. Ultimately, everything done on the infrastructure has to be reflected on the website somehow, so these discussions all need to fit together.

For instance, OPAM will have a website and regular feed of package updates too, and this needs to be woven into the front page somehow.  But too many of those boxes will be very busy, so it'll be useful to get all this discussion on one list.
